When an employee opens their timecard for the first time in a day, they are automatically clocked in.

If iBeacons are in use, eRouting will automatically detect the employee in front of the iPad, otherwise the user uses the iPad camera to scan their barcoded badge.

Employees classified as “shop”, must be punched into an activity in order to stay clocked in, otherwise they will be prompted to clock out.  Up to six, indirect activities can be set up for employees to punch into when not punched into a job.

Only those users with permission to perform contract review and release approval may do so.  Also viewing the customer purchase order is limited to those same users.

In System Administration, you can choose how eRouting responds to either has not been performed; from ignoring to stopping users from performing operations on a job where contract review and release approval have not been completed.

These functions are built into eRouting to meet the requirements set forth in AS9100D and ISO9001:2015.

Only those users that have permission to receive purchase orders may do so.

Packlists and C of Cs are saved to the server as PDF files and made available for viewing in Jobboss in the PO module, and the Job module when purchased directly to a job.

When receiving stock items, the user can specify the location in inventory for each item being received.

When a received item is going into stores in multiple containers, a container quantity may be entered so a label is generated for each container.  For example, if the user were receiving 4000 helicoils in bags of 1000, they would enter 1000 as the container quantity and eRouting will print 4 labels.

If receiving less than the full order amount, the user can select whether to leave the PO line open or close it short.

If closing short, a notification will be sent by the server to all users that have selected that option.

eRouting checks for a number of conditions when a user starts an operation:

  • does the user have permission for that work center;
  • or for that operation;
  • has contract review and release approval been performed;
  • is the prior operation complete, etc.

For each condition, you can choose for the system to either ignore, warn, or require supervisor override.

A user may be given permission for a work center or limited to a subset of operations performed at that work center.  For example, a user could be given permission for the work center “INSPECTION”, but only for the operation “RECEIVE INSP”.  That user could do receiving inspection, but if the operation were “FINAL INSP” the system would block them from punching in to the operation.

Only those users given permission to create and edit operation notes may do so.  However, all users are able to view notes and photos.

Photos and accompanying notes are linked to the part number and operation so they are available any time a job is created for that part.

In System Administration, you can define a default note template to define and prompt users for specific information.  The default note is only used on the first note created for an operation.

There is no limit to the number of photos/notes that can be created for an operation.

Only those users granted permission to pick material may do so.

The user can either scan an inventory label barcode or select from the stock list to pick material.

A user with red line permissions can scan a inventory label barcode, and after confirmation, add it as a material requirement to the job at the same time as picking it.

When picking from raw stock, in addition to exact matches, the system provides a listing of the available sizes of material of the same alloy or class from which the part could be manufactured.

With eRouting, users have access to attached documents related to their job.  In this demo you’ll see a drawing opened from a routing line.

Documents may also be attached to:

  • Jobstypical location for drawings, BOMS;
  • CustomersT and Cs, quality requirements, etc;
  • OperationsProcedures, specifications, work instructions that apply to all parts;
  • Job Operationsinstructions specific to that operation and part;
  • Material RequirementseRouting attaches material C of Cs here;
  • MaterialsSpecifications, etc.

When an Outside Process C of C is received and scanned in eRouting the cert is saved to the server and the C of C attached to the job operation.

Signed packlists and PO receipt acknowledgements are also saved to the server and attached to the corresponding record(s) in Jobboss.

eRouting allows users with appropriate permission levels to make changes to the manufacturing routing on the fly.  They can:

  • Add or remove job operations
  • Add or remove material requirements
  • Change a material buy into a pick and vice versa
  • Open and Close operations
  • Edit notes, etc…

All changes are immediately reflected in the ERP system.  When finished goods are transferred, you can choose whether or not a job template is updated with the changes.

ereceipts_03 copy

eReceipts is a stand alone application allowing it to be used off the network to collect signatures when delivering parts.

At the time of signing, if there are multiple packlists or POs, the signer can choose to apply that signature to all of them or just the one.

A roster of past signers is maintained for each customer and vendor.  Allowing their name to be chosen from a list rather than typed each time.

When shipping parts via carrier, the tracking number can be scanned in lieu of a signature.

Upon syncing, a PDF of the packlist is saved to the server and attachments added in the appropriate modules making them instantly available for viewing by all Jobboss users.

Packlists and POs remain in eReceipts until they are signed.  No more lost paperwork!

Only those users granted permission to split jobs may do so.

For most companies splitting a job during production is a major headache.  With eRouting we’ve made it incredibly simple and painless.  Essentially all you need to do is determine your split quantity and a due date for the split job.  eRouting does the rest..

  • a new split job is created in the MRP system;
  • operations that are complete leave the labor transaction details with the original job, but add a note in the split routing indicating on what job they were performed for traceability;
  • operations that have started move the labor transaction details to the split job and change the status to open on the original;
  • actual labor and material costs are apportioned between the split and original in proportion to the quantity being split;
  • all notes, photos, inspection requirements, and attachments are immediately available in the split job;
  • the estimated times, remaining time, and material requirements are recalculated.

Work may commence immediately on the split job.

When a user stops an operation, eRouting checks for a number of conditions and determines the need to either warn the user or require a supervisor override to complete the transaction.  Conditions such as:

  • completing an operation short of the order quantity;
  • leaving an operation open after the make quantity has been reached;
  • scrap total that would leave the job short;
  • quantities that don’t match up with the prior operation, etc.

If notifications have been enabled, the server will send out an email when an adverse condition exists.

If the user had multiple operations open at the same time, their labor cost will be distributed between those operations.  The default is to split labor evenly across open operations, however, that can be changed by the user if one operation took a larger percentage of their time.

An essential function available in eRouting is transferring finished goods into stores at the end of the job.  When the transfer is made eRouting does a number of things besides calculating the unit cost and putting parts in inventory…

  • Compiles all associated C of Cs into a single PDF cert pack and saves on the server;
  • Ensures that all operation and material requirements have been completed;
  • Displays any un-invoiced material or outside processing POs so a cost can be entered against them;
  • Updates the job template, when existing, with any redlined changes. (optional);
  • Updates the job operation estimated cycle times and set-up times (optional).*

* When updating template operation and cycle times, eRouting sets the estimated set-up time to the average of the actual set-up time from each time a part has been run.  When updating the operation, eRouting doesn’t change the cycle time, but rather averages out the actual cycle time from each run of the part and then adjusts the efficiency percentage and manned percentages accordingly.  This gives you a better grasp of your profitability and improved time estimates for scheduling in the future.

Only those users granted permission to adjust inventory may do so.

Inventory can be filtered by part number, lot, or location; so a user can, for example, select a shelf to see all of the inventory expected on it.

Photos can be attached to any inventory item, not just finished goods, making it easier to identify an item.

When an adjustment is made a new label will be generated when that option has been selected.

Only users assigned an email address in System Administration will be able to configure and receive notifications.

Additional privilege has to be assigned for any user to receive notifications on when an employee clocks in or out.

Notifications are sent from the server via e-mail immediately following a triggering event.

Triggering events typically involve a potentially adverse condition; allowing it to be addressed in real-time, before the operation is complete and it’s too late to fix.

You have complete control over the permissions granted to each user.  Based on their configuration, users can be allowed or denied individual transactions as well as restricting their ability to perform activities based on both the work center and the specific operation assigned to the work center.

For instance, a user might be allowed to complete tasks assigned to the work center “Inspection”, but limited to specific operations on that work center such as “Receiving Inspection” and not including “Final Inspection”.

Certain users may be granted “Override” permissions, thus allowing a supervisor to permit a user to perform a function outside of the normal permissions they have been granted.
